Sydecas Inc. – Starting from Nursing Care Clothing Business

Sydecas Inc. is a start-up company that started in April 2016 with a main office in Kakogawa City, Hyogo Prefecture as a company that makes clothing and miscellaneous goods for nursing care. Focusing on the “problem of male caregivers” that exists in more than 1 million people in Japan, the men’s apron project was started in 2017 with the business purpose of reducing and eliminating the burden of male caregiving. The compnay raise development funds through pre-sales through crowdfunding, and also develop projects that utilize waste materials from local industries.

Started NinjaFoods, a food tech business that contributes to SDGs

While planning and developing various products centered on nursing care and clothing, Sydecas Inc. has been focusing on universal design, utilization of local resources, and sustainable product creation and organization. In 2020, the company started the food tech business of “NinjaFoods,” a food innovation brand from Japan that considers health and the environment, contributing to the SDGs established by the United Nations in 2015.

Originality and competitiveness of NinjaPaste

Developed a next-generation food that utilizes a unique assimilable dietary fiber material “NinjaPaste” extracted from konjac potatoes. It has also been adopted for the Osaka City Acceleration Program (OSAP) and Hyogo Prefecture’s “Post-Corona Startup Support Project (Expanded Creative Entrepreneurship Creation Project)”.

Product development using NinjaPaste, also for reducing food loss

Sydecas Inc. has announced product development using NinjaPaste one after another. For example, gyoza hamburger is a health food that achieves 83% less sugar than NinjaFoods conventional hamburger, and achieved 285% with crowdfunding Makuake. As for the jointly developed product, Sydecas has developed “Zero Sugar Fried Chicken” in collaboration with “Kushiyaki Sakaba Torikichi”. In addition, The comapny has succeeded in reducing calories by 65% (compared to conventional chicken base products) without using eggs, flour, or dairy products.

In addition, “Meat Tofu Burrito” uses a new, ultra-low calorie alternative meat made from tofu and minced meat based on NinjaPaste with 54% less sugar. They has also developed “Sustainable Veggie Jerky,” which transforms non-standard vegetables that have to be discarded with NinjaPaste. In addition to these, they are promoting the development of various health-conscious food products.

Foodtech startup Sydecas Inc. sells a new product, konjac ice sweets, exclusively for Golden Week!

Sydecas Inc., which mainly develops the food tech business in Kakogawa City, Hyogo Prefecture, has developed sweets using Shiso City’s special blueberries and apple jam in collaboration with Shiso Maple Co., Ltd., which is engaged in regional revitalization projects. From 10:00 to 15:00 on May 4th and 5th, 2023 during Golden Week, they will sell a limited number at “Michinoeki Minami Haga”.
