Design Festa Vol.57 Held at Tokyo Big Sight!
The Design Festa Vol.57 will be held for two days on May 20th (Sat) and 21st (Sun) at the West and South Halls of Tokyo Big Sight! Advance tickets are ¥800 (1 day), ¥1,500 (both days), and same-day tickets are ¥1,000 (1 day*), and admission is free for elementary school students and younger! *Two-day tickets for the same day are not available.
What is Design Festa?
This design festa is an art event that anyone can participate in without judging, regardless of whether they are professionals or amateurs, as long as the exhibit is original (created by themselves). Started in 1994, it is currently one of the largest art events in Japan, with approximately 6,500 booths and approximately 60,000 visitors over the two days, and held twice a year (May and November) at the Tokyo Big Sight.

The organizer, Design Festa Co., Ltd., provides artists with a place where they can express themselves freely. Over 10,000 people, from amateurs to professional artists, participate regardless of age, nationality, genre, or style. So, you can experience and appreciate various genres such as various unique works, miscellaneous goods that color your daily life, and live performances.
One of the attractions of this event is that you can interact with artists and taste gourmet food from all over the world in the food area.
Theme Area
Regular Lightning Booth Area
There are no borders such as professional or amateur, including age, gender, nationality. There are three types of booth sizes, S, M, and L, and works of various genres are lined up.
Low-light Booth Area
At the dimmed booth, there are two sizes, S and M, and video works and expressions that make effective use of lighting will gather.
Live Pinting Area
A live painting where the work is completed over the two days of the exhibition. This is an area unique to Design Festa where you can enjoy the works drawn on a large wall up close.
Workshop Area
It will be a participatory area where visitors can experience making works. You can experience the charm of making things through the experience here.
Show Stage Area
On the show stage, various expressions such as fashion shows and dances are unfolded.
Performance Area
Outdoor and indoor performance areas offer a wide variety of performances, plays, and more.
Food Area
From standard menus to limited menus that can only be tasted here, cafes and food trucks that offer food from all over the world gather.
One-Coin Runway
This is a runway unique to Design Festa, where you can showcase creative things for just one-coin (500 Yen), from fashion shows to product introductions.
